John 1:18

KJV - No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. (A, Byz)

NASV - No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him. (Aleph, B)

NIV - No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. (A, Byz)

Note: The phrase "who is himself God", in NIV, is of uncertain textual origin.


John 1:19

KJV - And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? (Aleph, Byz)

John 1:42

Note: The 'Byz' manuscripts contain two words which indicate that Jesus pretended to not hear them. Other manuscripts do not include the words.


John 8:9

KJV - And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. (Byz)

NASV - When they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the center of the court. (various manuscripts)


John 8:10

KJV - When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? (Byz)

John 8:54

KJV - Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: (Aleph, B)

John 8:59

Note: The KJV source uses the word "hardened" in the past perfect tense, translated the same way. The NASV source is in the aorist tense, translated as past tense.


John 12:41

John 13:2
