The Epistle to the Ephesians

Ephesians 3:1

KJV - For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, (only minor manuscripts)

NASV - For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles— (A, B, Byz)

Note:  As indicated, the 'Byz' manuscripts say "Christ Jesus". The Textus Receptus (TR) - KJV source text -
follows the 'Byz' as it normally does. The KJV translators, however, departed from the TR in this
passage and followed some lesser manuscripts, choosing "Jesus Christ" instead of "Christ Jesus".

Ephesians 3:9

KJV - And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: (B, Byz)

NASV - and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things; (Aleph, A)

NIV - and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. (B, Byz)

Note:  The words "by Jesus Christ" in the KJV are found in the 'Byz' manuscripts, but not in any that are
considered more significant.

Ephesians 3:14

KJV - For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, (Byz)

NASV - For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, (Aleph, A, B)

Ephesians 4:6

KJV - One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. (manuscript source not determined)

NASV - one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. (Aleph, A, B)

Note:  The TR (KJV source text) says "in you all", but the TR does not exactly match the 'Byz'
manuscripts as it usually does.  Most 'Byz' say "in US all".

Ephesians 4:9

KJV - Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? (B, Byz)

NASV - Now this expression, “He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth? (Aleph, A)

Ephesians 4:28

KJV - Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. (B, Byz)

NASV - He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need. (Aleph, A)

Ephesians 5:2

KJV - And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. (Byz)

NASV - and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. (Aleph, A, B)

NIV - and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (Byz)

Ephesians 5:9

KJV - (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) (Byz)

NASV - (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), (Aleph, A, B)

Ephesians 5:30

KJV - For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. (Byz)

NASV - because we are members of His body. (Aleph, A, B)

Ephesians 6:24

KJV - Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. (Byz)

NASV - Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love. (Aleph, A, B)
