Romans 1:1

Romans 1:29

KJV - Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, (Byz)

NASV - being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, (B)


Romans 1:31

Romans 2:16

KJV - In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. (A, Byz)

NASV - on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus. (Aleph, B)


Romans 3:7

KJV - For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner? (B, Byz)

NASV - But if through my lie the truth of God abounded to His glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner? (Aleph, A)


Romans 3:25

KJV - Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; (B, Byz)

NASV - whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; (Aleph)


Romans 4:1

KJV - What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? (Byz)

NASV - What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found? (Aleph, A)


Romans 4:11

KJV - And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: (Byz)

NASV - and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them, (Aleph, A, B)


Romans 4:19

KJV - And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: (Byz)

NASV - Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb; (Aleph, A, B)


Romans 4:22

KJV - And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. (Aleph, A, Byz)

NIV - This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.” (B)

Note: "Therefore" and "This is why" are translated from the same Greek word. The variant is the missing "and" in the 'B' manuscript.


Romans 6:11

KJV - Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Aleph, Byz)

NASV - Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. (A, B)


Romans 6:12

KJV - Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. (Byz)

NASV - Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, (Aleph, A, B)


Romans 7:18

KJV - For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. (Byz)

NASV - For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. (Aleph, A, B)


Romans 7:25

KJV - I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. (Aleph, A, Byz)

NASV - Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin. (Aleph-1)

Note: Aleph-1 refers to a "corrected" version of Aleph.


Romans 8:1

KJV - There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Byz)

NASV - Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Aleph, B)


Romans 8:2

KJV - For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (A, Byz)

NASV - For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. (Aleph, B)


Romans 8:28

KJV - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Aleph, Byz)

NASV - And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (A, B)


Romans 8:34

KJV - Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. (B, Byz)

NASV - who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. (Aleph, A)


Romans 8:38

KJV - For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, (Byz)

Note: This is a quote from Isaiah 10:22-23 which reads "A destruction is determined, overflowing with righteousness. For a complete destruction, one that is decreed, the Lord God of hosts will execute in the midst of the whole land." (NASV)

Romans 9:28

KJV - For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. (Byz)

Romans 9:32

KJV - Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; (Byz)

Romans 9:33

Romans 10:1

Romans 10:15

KJV - And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! (Byz)

Romans 10:17

KJV - So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (A, Byz)

Romans 11:6

KJV - And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. (B, Byz)

NASV - But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace. (Aleph, A)


Romans 11:17

KJV - And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; (A, Byz)

Romans 11:31

Romans 13:9

Romans 13:11

KJV - And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. (minor sources)

NASV - Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed. (Aleph, A, B)

Note: 'Byz' says "high time for US to awake".


Romans 14:4

KJV - Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. (Byz)

NASV - Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. (Aleph, A, B)


Romans 14:9

KJV - For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. (Byz)

Romans 14:10

Romans 14:21

Romans 14:22

KJV - Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. (Byz)

Romans 15:7

KJV - Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. (B)

Romans 15:19

Romans 15:24

KJV - Whensoever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company. (Byz)

NASV - whenever I go to Spain—for I hope to see you in passing, and to be helped on my way there by you, when I have first enjoyed your company for a while— (Aleph, A, B)


Romans 15:29

KJV - And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ. (Byz)

Romans 16:20

KJV - And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. (A, Byz)
