The Epistle to the Colossians

 

Colossians 1:2

KJV - To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Aleph, A, Byz)

Colossians 1:3

KJV - We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, (Aleph, A, Byz)

NASV - We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, (B)


Colossians 1:7

KJV - As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ; (Byz)

NASV - just as you learned it from Epaphras, our beloved fellow bond-servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf, (Aleph, A, B)


Colossians 1:12

KJV - Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

NASV - giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.

NIV - and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. (Aleph, B)


Colossians 1:14

KJV - In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: (no major manuscripts)

NASV - in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Aleph, A, B, Byz)


Colossians 2:7

KJV - Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. (B, Byz)

NASV - having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. (Aleph, A)


Colossians 2:13

KJV - And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; (no major manuscripts)

NASV - When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, (Aleph, A, B, Byz)


Colossians 2:18

KJV - Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, (Byz)

NASV - Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self- abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on visions he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind, (Aleph, A,B)


Colossians 3:16

KJV - Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (Byz)

Colossians 3:17

KJV - And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. (Byz)

Colossians 4:8

KJV - Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts; (Aleph, Byz)

NASV - For I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know about our circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts; (A, B)


Colossians 4:12

KJV - Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. (Byz)

NASV - Epaphras, who is one of your number, a bondslave of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God. (Aleph, A, B)


Colossians 4:15

KJV - Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house.  (Byz)

NASV - Greet the brethren who are in Laodicea and also Nympha and the church that is in her house. (B)
